Rev. Garritt Fleming, Mdiv, ACPE Certified Chaplain
Senior Steward | Ministry Chaplain, Writer, Editor
Rev. Garritt Fleming is an ordained minister, chaplain, and Messianic apologist with a deep calling to pastoral care and compassionate ministry. He currently serves as a full-time chaplain at Willow Valley, where he provides spiritual support to residents, families, and staff—offering prayer, encouragement, and presence grounded in the truth of Scripture and the hope of Messiah.
With extensive experience in pastoral care, Rev. Garritt Fleming has completed his second unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Lancaster General Hospital and is actively pursuing certification in chaplaincy. His approach to care is holistic, addressing the spiritual, emotional, and relational needs of those he serves while pointing them to the comfort and restoration found in Yeshua HaMashiach.
Ministry and Pastoral Leadership
Before entering chaplaincy, Rev. Garritt Fleming served alongside his wife, Rev. Dr. Sanette Fleming, as Co-Pastor of Schoeneck Moravian Church in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, beginning in January 2018. Prior to that, he pastored Freedom Moravian Church in Wisconsin. Since his ordination in 2015, he has faithfully shepherded congregations through Biblical teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.
Throughout his ministry, his focus has remained consistent: to guide individuals and families toward a deeper relationship with God through His Word and to cultivate lives marked by faithfulness, compassion, and obedience.
Education and Calling
Rev. Garritt Fleming earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) from Moravian Theological Seminary in 2015.
His calling to ministry began long before formal training, rooted in a deep burden to serve the elderly, the sick, and the marginalized. Through volunteer work in nursing homes, caregiving agencies, and homeless shelters, he developed a heart for compassionate service that continues to shape his chaplaincy today.
Chaplaincy and Compassionate Care
As a chaplain, Rev. Garritt Fleming embodies the Scriptural call to mercy and compassion. His ministry is centered on walking alongside individuals in seasons of vulnerability—offering prayer, encouragement, and the assurance of God’s presence.
His work reflects the heart expressed in Matthew 9:36, where Yeshua moved with compassion, ministered to those who were weary and scattered like sheep without a shepherd. In the same way, Rev. Fleming seeks to faithfully care for those entrusted to him with humility, wisdom, and love.
Apologetics and Discipleship
In addition to his chaplaincy work, Rev. Garritt Fleming is a committed Messianic apologist, equipping believers to understand and defend their faith within both Jewish and broader cultural contexts. His passion for apologetics flows from his personal devotion to Yeshua HaMashiach and his desire to see believers grow in confidence, clarity, and Biblical conviction.
He is especially committed to helping believers recover a deeper understanding of the Hebraic foundations of the faith and to live in alignment with the truth of Scripture.
Family and Personal Life
Outside of ministry, Rev. Garritt Fleming cherishes time with his wife and daughter. He enjoys baking, exercise, and music, embracing a life that reflects both service and Sabbath rhythms.
