Kingdom Identity: What Title Does God Call You?
Romans 12:2 | 1 Peter 2:9 | Matthew 5:16 | Colossians 3:17
I was just thinking…
Have you ever wrestled with what title to give yourself?
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, content creator, artist, Rabbi, teacher, pastor, or servant leader in any sphere—maybe you’ve found yourself staring at a blank form, wondering: What do I call myself? What title really fits who I am?
You’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
I remember the struggle of filling out the “title” section of my business application for I Was Just Thinking Ministries. It didn’t feel right to simply choose from the standard options. I spent hours on Google, reading articles on leadership titles, scrolling through bios on LinkedIn, comparing titles like Founder, CEO, Director, Visionary Leader…—you name it. I even printed business cards with different titles for different purposes.
But here’s the truth: None of them felt like they truly fit. And I didn’t know why—until the Lord revealed it to me.
We Were Using Earthly Language for a Heavenly Calling
When I Was Just Thinking Ministries was birthed by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), I began to see the deeper issue: we were trying to describe a Kingdom assignment using worldly language.
Yes, there’s a time and place to use professional titles—we need to interface with the world. But as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven (Philippians 3:20), we are called to live from a different reality, speak a different language, and walk in a different identity.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
— Romans 12:2
This isn’t just about business or branding—it’s about identity.
Your Kingdom Identity Is Not Optional
Throughout Scripture, God never confused His people with the titles of the world. He called them set apart (קָדוֹשׁ – qadosh), anointed, chosen, and beloved. Whether it was Avraham, Moshe, David, or the prophets—He defined them not by what they did, but by whose they were.
And then there’s us—the Body of Messiah.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
— 1 Peter 2:9, TLV
That’s your title:
🌿 Chosen
🕊 Royal
🔥 Holy
🎺 Proclaimer of His Light
That’s what Heaven calls you.
Yeshua said in Matthew 5:16,
“Let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”
But your light can’t shine when you’re still wearing the identity the world gave you. It shines when you step out of conformity and into your true calling as an ambassador of the Kingdom of God.
Even Nicodemus, a respected religious leader, saw something different in Yeshua. He came by night with questions, unsure of what he believed, but certain of one thing:
“Rabbi, we know You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform these signs You do unless God were with Him.”
— John 3:2
In other words: Yeshua’s life bore witness to a higher authority.
So should ours.
Three Kingdom Applications
Let’s reclaim our true identity with boldness, humility, and intentionality. Here are three ways to begin:
Application 1: Steward Your Gifts with Kingdom Faithfulness
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.”
— James 1:17
Every opportunity, gift, and talent you’ve been entrusted with belongs to Adonai. Use them not for self-promotion, but for Kingdom impact. Whether you teach, speak, build, write, design, or lead—do it all in the Name of Yeshua(Colossians 3:17).
Application 2: Speak the Language of the Kingdom
“Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up.”
— Ephesians 4:29
Begin calling yourself what God calls you. When someone asks what you do, don’t just respond with a worldly title. Speak prophetically: “I’m a servant of Yeshua using [insert your gifting] to advance the Kingdom of God.” Change your language, and your identity will follow.
Application 3: Embrace Heaven’s Declaration
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.”
— John 15:16
Stop striving to fit the world’s mold. The world will never validate your spiritual calling. But Heaven has already appointed and anointed you. Walk in that. Speak that. Own that.
Final Thoughts
The Lord isn’t looking for people with perfect resumes. He’s looking for people who are willing to carry His Name and live out their Kingdom identity without compromise.
So the next time you fill out a form or introduce yourself, pause and ask:
“According to Heaven, who am I?”
You are:
💠 A royal priesthood
💠 A holy nation
💠 An ambassador of Messiah
💠 A light in the darkness
💠 A living epistle read by all (2 Corinthians 3:2–3)
Let’s stop asking the world for permission to be who God has already declared we are.

wohh exactly what I was looking for, regards for posting.
